Array RMC team invitational Just wondering who's going, I know there are a lot of threads asking the same question about other tournaments but this is our clubs "big" trip because we all pile into vans and drive up to canada where the drinking age is 19 which is great coming from college. I think the tournament is just an excuse. -

Array We didn't get invited, so "If I were ever to challenge you to a duel, your best bet would be battle axes in a very dark basement." Misquoted from The Prisoner

Array We were GONNA go, but all my loser teammates have conflicts of interest that weekend. (Stupid jobs! Stupid families!) Since it's a team event, obviously, I can't go alone.
Not that I'm bitter...

Something that needs to be taken into consideration is that the weekend is a conflict with the "Big One" (more formally titled the "New England Fall Invitational" or something similar) in Massachusetts, that nearly all of the New England area schools attend, AND the Temple Open in Philadelphia, that draws most of the rest of the schools from the East Coast (28 schools this year for nearly 500 fencers!).
With those conflicts pretty much anyone within a reasonable, or almost reasonable (even by college standards which can be generous in these cases) driving range is probably already fencing at another tournament.

Even with those two conflicting tournaments there's still 175 teams registered apparently.
A former clubmate of mine is the team captain for RMC.
So good luck to them. -

Array Yeah, don't let anybody be hating on your tournament.

Does the event have a website with information such as entries and past results?

-B Sadly it doesn't. Which is odd considering the degree of anal rententiveness military types usually have.
Since it's being put on by the RMC, Royal Military College of Canada, teams such as Westpoint and the UK Military attend. I would also assume the USAF fields a team as well but someone here probably knows better than I do.
You can find the entry form here: http://www.fencing.on.ca/events/RMC/...ional-2005.pdf and it's usually held on this weekend historically. -
I was there. We lost, but we are all really green so we did okay considering how much we suck. -

Most of our A-teams had the misfortune of seeding 16th or 17th in DEs. 4 of the 5 teams we had make DEs were beaten by the #1 seed. But my ME team finished 13th so I was happy. -

Array Thanks, they sell bayonet sockets but I'm guessing they're LP style since they don't specify. -

If they don't have Italian-style bayonets in stock, they can certainly add them in their next order from Negrini, if there's a market for them. Similar Threads -
