| New IOC ruling? HI
Jusr read a small article on the move by the IOC to limit new sports in Olympic games. One boxing category will be eliminated to make room for something else AND women's sabre will be added BUT one fencing discipline is gonna have to go. Which event are they thinking of doing away with? Any one in the know?
I could do without team sabre, if given a choice.....

| eh? While I'm glad my dear ol' catagory is going to be put into the olympics, why should they have to take away from one sport then add a different thingie to it? I say get rid of trampoline. That's the only choice. But also, as a fencing friend says "No!! Don't get rid of trampoline!! that's my only chance to get into the olympics!" Anyways, I'd better go out in the backyard and practice some flips...

| "One event", right. Here comes the thin end of the wedge...

| They wouldn't take boxing out of the olympics, though. it's a spectator sport... So since they're taking one from boxing also I wouldn't say we're done for quite yet.

| If I had to choose what sport to get rid of...let's get rid of Equestrian. Here's why I think this...I feel that in this sport it's the horse that does most of the work and not the person. |

| OK,
Here's a radical idea:
Don't put individual women's sabre into the Olympics. Put women's team sabre into the Olympics.
I've always felt that the team events were more dramatic, emotional and spectator friendly than the individuals.

| I'm with Paolo. Team events are much more interesting to watch.

| As a rider, I agree and disagree. Having an excellent horse means nothing if you can't ride, and becoming a world-class rider requires huge amounts of hard work and talent. However, very often the difference between merely excellent and truly world-class is, "Daddy bought me this $80,000 warmblood and a $40,000 trainer." |

| I've said it before, I'll say it again:
I can get all the trampoline I need watching Comedy Central's Man Show.
Better camera angles too!
ps- five days of televized swimming events gets dull too

| Whats the event we have won most often? We should keep whichever that is and vote for getting rid of the one we've won the least.

Kill that line of reasoning! We haven't won dick! Would you really have us all out of the Olympics?!
