broken body cords

Here's a helpful tip:

Both of my epee body cords failed me this morning in a tournament. Instead of spending $40 (or more) on getting entire new wires and plugs, I bought some clear-insulation wire from my hardware store and reused the plugs. 15 feet of 2-strand wire cost me $3.20. I then separated two strands on a 5-foot length, giving me 10 feet of 3-stranded wire. There was nothing wrong with the plugs, so I reused those. Now with clear insulation i can see where the break occurs.

That doesn't make sense.

How did you seperate them and make 2 into 3?

the wire i bought was essentially two wires stuck together, like this: http://www.jalanes.com/ImgUpload/P_273965_288449.jpg

i separated the two strands on 5 feet of it, and divided it. then i had two 5-foot lengths consisting of a 2-stranded wire and a one-stranded wire. i made the single wire the c-line, and the other two a and b.

sorry for being vague

Sigh. And this is news? Do an archive search and you'll find that billions of electrons have been sacrificed to this subject.

Not nearly as bad as the wholesale slaughter of polyesters that form Inq's wardrobe.

All those poor little polyesters, snuffed out in the prime of youth.
