    Colored Lamés?

My coach said she recently saw a pink lamé at a competition. I am interested in getting one, but I haven't been able to find any online. I've seen red, blue, and green, but not pink.

Does anyone have any idea where I could purchase a pink lamé?

PBT and Blade are the two vendors I know of who have colored lames, so I'd look there. There may be others, I just haven't seen them yet.

The red ones tend to look fairly pink. I suppose it would depend which shade you wanted and how much/fast the red could fade.

This is very true. I've talked to at least one fencer who tried to get a red lamé, but got one that was unquestionably pink.

You should shop around and see if you can get photos of the "red" lamés and see which one is pinkest.

blade makes a red lame that looks more on the pinkish side. triplett makes an acutal pink one although it is ewwie looking.

Wash a regular one with a couple of new red t-shirts or red towels.

Then never wear it around me, please.

if you wanted to, you could just write "scrub" on the back of your lamé with magic marker instead. cheaper and more efficient.

That seems a bit harsh... I've worn a blue lame (only in practice), and our team (UNC) wears blue lames often in competition. After all, it's one of the school colors.

Whats with this "scrub" crap on this forum anyway? Let people express themselves. If I ever get good, I'm going to wear the most ostentatious fencing gear I can. Then kick ***.

The best sabre fencer in the section wears a black one from Blade. I have to say, it's not too bad looking.

there is no problem with coloured lames or masks. Some very good fencers wear them, some very poor fencers wear them. You are allowed to wear them under the rules, and if it brings new people in, or getting people to spend money on the sport, then its only a good thing.

All you are doing is bullying fencers and putting them off the sport. Grow up.

To the OP: I can't think of any manufacturers that specifically make pink lames, although as stated the red ones are a very light red.

Get it now and kick arse sooner.

Seriously, if you like it don't feel like you "have to wait until you're good" to wear it. (Unless it's a question of economy, of course...)

hmm, we seem to be getting a huge influx of people looking for pretty colors. Weird. (I figured since the OP's question had already been answered I could derail for a sec.)

You want to "express yourself", Lud, get a blog. Take up landscape painting. Form a band. There are plenty of avenues for that. The uniform of a sport is not one of them. That's why it's called a uniform, you know? Because it's just like everyone else's...
