| Men's Epee: Designated World Cups? Does anyone have any idea when the designated World Cups list for senior men's epee is going to come out?

| I guess not...
I did a little bit of research, and it turns out that the national men's epee coach has resigned. This is probably the reason the list hasn't come out.

| Yeah, I'm his replacement.
Seriously, who is gonna take his place?

We're looking for an epee coach here at the OTC; maybe someone can put these two ideas together and come up with a decent solution.

| This is kind of a problem, but I don't think it will get better.
Properly managing a program is a lot of work, travel and time.
Zero pay and Opportunity costs are a pain.
Too bad.

They both certainly have the experience to do it.

| Gary Copeland and Andrea Lagan are both the coaches for Women's Epee. Perhaps they could fill in until someone is officially appointed.
They certainly have enough experience to do a great job at it.
Another plus, they are closer to Co Springs and the OTC than just about anyone else in the country.

Women Epee was the only USA team that did not qualified for the last Olympics....

| I heard an unofficial rumor that Gago might be replacing Paul as men's epee coach.
If that's the case I am sure he will do a great job.

The Coach during that time was Kornel Udvarhelyi.
You will not find a better coach in the country.
Blame the athletes not the coach.

If that's the case I am sure he will do a great job. | That might be a very good choice, but this lists gets shorter each time around. This is not a highly desired position.

If you just took over, don't you think it would be better to concentrate on one team, rather than 2?

Blame the athletes not the coach. | Exactly. Not to ditch any of the fine women's epee fencers in the US, but there hasn't really been one women's epee fencer who has clearly stood out from the crowd in a long time... It seems most successful women's epee fencers in the US stay successful for too short of a time to really break it on the international stage...
Epee being a weapon that requires a lot of experience to do well, that just doesn't happen in the US: right after college, the women's epee fencers all stop fencing.
IMO a successful women's epee program will happen in the US when some of the athletes stick around for another quadriennial after their first OG, if they qualify at all, the other problem being that Canada does have a successful women's epee program that the US has to compete with.
