Tourney Proceeds to Go to Red Cross

Though the tourney announcement itself should go in a different location, I'd like to address this on the general board. On Saturday, Sept 22nd, Schoolcraft College Fencing Club in Livonia, Michigan is holding an open tournament. Proceeds from this event will go to relief efforts. What's the big deal, you ask?

Comerica Bank has agreed to MATCH whatever we make this day. If you can make it up to Michigan, please do so. Your involvement would be appreciated. If you can't, I urge the other divisions to try to do the same. Let's cast a POSITIVE light on US fencers!

The same was done with the tournaments held by New England division at Rhode Island Fencing Academy and Club this past weekend. Unlike Schoolcraft we didn't have a matching pledge, but the entry fees went to the Red Cross.
