    Newbie from Newquay UK

    Good to be here

I returned to foil fencing aged 37, 1 year ago after a 15 year break, i train twice a week, tuesdays and thursdays at a great club in Truro, i am competing at least once a month at our national open comps as well as doing local comps and a bit of coaching.

luckily i started back after new timings, as a younger fencer flicking was never really part of my repertoire anyway so i haven't had to get rid of it!

Glad to hear you've made it back to the sport!

Hi, and welcome to the forum and back to the sport. I hope you enjoy both for a long time. Don't forget to stretch!

Sweet Avatar. Speedy Gonzales just doesn't have as much coverage as he used to. Welcome back to the sport. I'm not a flicker either. I've never been able to pull off a decent one.

    Hello Cainey,
Cornwall is not very many miles from me across the sea. I'm hoping to get to some of the UK opens next year myself, we might be able to compare notes at some stage.

Good luck in the Welsh open; I'm not going to make that. I expect my first UK Open to be in Northern Ireland in Jan '06. Before that there's the Irish Open in early December. More info at http://www.irishfencing.net
