jim.burks is on a distinguished road
new novice from the California desert

I wonder if there is anyone else in the Mojave Desert involved in fencing.net. I live and go to school in Joshua Tree and it would be great to find some others in the area that know where to get equipment and have time to fence.

Yo Jimmy! Welcome. Wish I could help you out, but I'm in Los Angeles. Never been to Joshua Tree, but if you're ever in Pasadena, check out the local college on friday night.

Wow....I don;t knokw that there's anything near you...i THINK there's a club or some classes in Palmdale or Lancaster...don't know about Ridgecrest.

Other than that, the closest clubs are going to be in the Pasadena/Gldale. Burbank area.

Isn't there a club in Victorville too? I recall seeing a tournament in VV about a year ago -- supposed to have been pretty good.

As for getting equipment, try the fencing post (www.thefencingpost.com, if I recall the URL correctly). They're down in Escondido. Internet/email or phone order -- they're who I buy from on a regular basis.

PS -- oh yeah, don't forget to check at the Marine Base. A lot of the services have clubs at the bases, which may not be registered at USFA.
