For more than 30 years Eric served the Club in various capacities, including most recently as Chairman of the Board. His love for the sport of fencing has been expressed not only in his devotion to the Club, but most importantly in his guidance and teaching of young fencers. Eric was a founder and one of the original coaches of the Fencers Club Junior Olympic program formed in 1973 to teach inner-city youths the values and skills of fencing. Over the years Eric has taught and encouraged hundreds of young fencers, many of whom have become successful competitive fencers in the national and international arenas.
During this time Eric was also a major factor in furthering the status of Fencers Club as a competitive fencing power while maintaining its friendly and welcoming atmosphere as a haven for students and club fencers.
In recognition and gratitude for Eric's many years of selfless service to Fencers Club and to the sport of fencing the Board of Directors has awarded him the first Lifetime Membership granted in the history of the Club.
