    Tournaments in Great Britain

There was a discussion on the British Fencing Forum as to why poor London fencers had to travel beyond the M25 to get to tournaments

I put together a map showing the location of all the tournaments in the UK for which I could find information. You can find it at http://murorum.demon.co.uk/cgi-bin/tournament.cgi

Not too many features as yet, but it should get richer as time goes on.

Why not come over to the Coup du Nord - it should be too difficult to get to from Sweden.

I was at the CdN in Edinburgh last year. (Great fun!) Sadly I couldn't afford to go this year.

That said, it's not difficult to get to the UK from here but it takes a bit of money (which I don't have a lot of, sadly).
    Fencing is my only PvP.

Now that's pretty cool! We could use an application like that here. It would be a big hit. Thanks for sharing it.

Sounds like the USFA New England Division. Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont split off to form the Northeast Division because the 40 miles to go to Durham, New Hampshire was too far. And you should hear them ***** about going all the way to near Providence.

By the way, is that "Other" tournament in Bath, near Bristol, the 2006 Veterans World Championships?

No, I haven't put the moveable tournaments on there. I will have a look at the Vets web site and put their tournaments up.

Wow! the map has made it to the other end of the Atlantic!

Hey bafco, nice to see the map over here too. It's a really useful tool to plan your journeys for the tournament year. The gals and guys at LUFC have gotten a lot of use out of it.

Now the new england division consists only of Eastern Mass and Rhode Island. Also, Vermont is now Green Mountain division. But this is off topic...

Dont' complain there are only about 3/4 tournaments in N. Ireland a year, the next one isn't until the Northern Ireland Open in January!
