Array If we're going to play the "newbies shouldn't say anything about the board" game here are two thoughts:
1. There are several of us who have been around a LONG time who share the thoughts of the original poster. Can't use the "you haven't been here long enough" excuse on us.
2. If someone who is curious about fencing comes to this board for information or advice & sees the negative posts, what does that tell them? It reflects poorly on the rest of the board, not to mention the fencing community.
That said, some people don't even respect themselves & therefore can't respect other people. They think it's fun to cause trouble, etc. Really, it speaks volumes about their character. People who are secure in themselves don't need to act like a horse's hiney for attention online. There are better hobbies. You know, like fencing. But you are correct in one thing. This was a futile attempt. wait, you mean the posts between inq and i??? because if THAT is what you think is offensive on this board, then you need to redirect your attention to the TRULY offensive posts.... -

I don't read nearly every thread on this board. I was sticking up for your right to say what you think, and that you probably have some idea of what is and isn't proper behaviour around here.
And there has been some bad behaviour -- there've been a couple of threads closed, and various wars of words involving a few board members. People being friendly and poking fun at one another? Nothing wrong with it. -

Wait a minute, though, we're not part of the government, so we don't have to worry about those things! "If I were ever to challenge you to a duel, your best bet would be battle axes in a very dark basement." Misquoted from The Prisoner

But you are correct in one thing. This was a futile attempt. The later posts were made in good humor. If you don't like innuendo, perhaps you shouldn't be on the internet, much less in a public forum. I mean, the posts weren't even offensive...anyone young enough to be harmed wouldn't even know what they mean. Sorry, but you're going to have to get over it.
You've been on this board for a year and a half, yet you seem completely oblivious to what's happening on it.
It wasn't a futile attempt, it was a stupid attempt. Sorry. Similar Threads -
