Array Nice results for those guys.
BUT
Is this something like winning the 2004 Senior World Championships? Take your time. Read carefully. -

Array Allison Henvick took 2nd in WF here, too. -

Array "Cadet World Cup"?
No such thing. There are Junior and Senior World Cups, and there is a Cadet World Championship, but the Worlds is the only FIE sanctioned cadet event.
Budapest is simply an international cadet competition - anyone can enter if they pay the fee. Dunno if you Americans have some strange additional qualification criteria.
Note that I'm not taking anything away from the winners - this is a hard competition. But it's not a World Cup in the official sense. "First, second, third, dead f***in' last." - Greg Glassman -

Array Does anyone have the final results list? I went to the FIE website yesterday, and it wasn't up yet. I have a good friend who competed, and I'd like to see how she finished. Thanks! -

Rory- It's how the USFA refers to designated European Cadet events. And you're right tha the nomenclature is confusing and gets parents and fencers thinking that what they're doing is something other than what it is. That said, for the designated events the US does send coaches and referees, etc. similarly to how they do for junior/senior world cups.

-B This was my attempt at a joke.
There's no such thing as a Cadet World Cup...
Just like there aren't World Championships in Olympic years.
2004 may have been a bad year to pick... were there seperate world championships for the non-Olympic Events? I don't remember. Take your time. Read carefully. -

Array Or junior olympics in the US..... its a nice sell to parents, but its just a NAC with qualifiers. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -

I believe that the WST and WFT events (won by Russia and Italy, respectively) in New York, in association with the world cups, were designated as the Senior World Championship events for 2004 for those events.
Funny joke though. :eyeroll:
