    Nack or Enn-Aye-Cee?

Ok. I've been noticing that a lot of people recently have been pronouncing NAC "nack", I guess because it's easier to say. I personally stick with Enn-Aye-Cee, just because I figure it's not french where all of the c's are pronounced unless they have that 5...ok, that made no sense but that's my reasoning. Anyway, post what you say and any thoughts you have on the issue.

I've said ennaycee for a long time, but then I realized that I had only read the word. And my coach pronounces it "NACK" so I'm trying to get into the habit.

No, your reasoning does not make any sense. Whether you spell it out or say the word, your still pronouncing the c.

    The c's are like k before a and o (I think that's right) unless there's a ç thing, in which case it's pronounced like s.

Why would you refer to a NAC as "NIC*" which appear to be the options.

Aye is pronounced I and is a generic way of saying yes. "Aye- we Scots are famous fur it!"

And NIC is "Network Interface Card" and there are enough geeks in Fencing to get really confused when being welcomed to the NIC.

Why are you guys broadcasting (your geekiness)? I don't know if you've noticed but you've only really got so much time to negotiate the window before you fall off.

You misunderstand; my ACK line is active low, so you might have seen it as an ACK#.

This is really a SYN that this discussion has gone too far.

    There's nothing to see here.

    I completely agree.

    SSH everyone!

    Timeout!
That's it, I'm done with the discussion forums on F.net. It's had its uses, but the ideologues, ranters, and "experts" have drowned too many of the conversations. I'm changing my password to something random and never logging in again.
