women always seem to have more options. all the girls i would be interested in, would have at least 5 other guys after her at the same time but who else does glowboy have?? where women have it tough is in deciding which of the guys she really wants.

its never easy to tell if someone likes you and a lot of the time you just have to "put yourself out there".

Well, you could probably improve matters some if you stopped referring to yourself in the third person and appending "boy" to your name.

Having an age difference has advantages and disadvantages for both flings and relationships.

As for it being easier for one sex or the other.... hmmm generally I know more single women than men. I don't know if it's easier for one gender or the other, but I think women tend to be more picky.

There are more males than females born in the world. The males tend to die younger, some very young as they are more reckless. By the time they reach old age there are significantly more females than men.

I think you are only paying attention to the "hot and easy" girls then. Of course they have a long following of easy suitors, just like the really "hot" guys do. Unfortunately most of us don't fit into those categories.

Oh, one more thing to add to my post above. Girls should have a sense of humor and at least give a chuckle to our bad jokes.

1) Go places where you’re likely to meet them. I am a fan of taking courses and joining clubs. This gives you time to observe someone for a period of time and get to know who they are. I’m not a fan of the bar scene as the only thing you have in common is being in the same bar. Doing something on your own, I think makes you more approachable than being with a gaggle of girls in a noise bar where it’s hard to talk.

2) If a guy approaches you, always be kind whether you’re interested in him or not. Remember that it takes a lot of guts to approach you. If you reject someone, do it kindly there’s a person there.

3) Don’t be too quick to say no to someone who doesn’t seem like your “type”. Often people get too focused on a certain type of person. Date people you would not normally date, such as a shy guy when your past boyfriends haven’t been…. broaden your range of acceptable guys by being open minded. Remember if going outside what your type doesn’t work, it may be just that person, and not the concept.

if all girls/women did this they would have no problems at all...

by the way, i liked the bar/club scene once upon a time...and i can do a wicked bit of dancing.. and have gotten girls this way many times..you can't take what goes on in these places seriously or you will be really disappointed. the girls that go here are NOT trying to meet anyone long term. its just about fun.

only one of these girls i was talking about were really hotties. the last one i remember had a great great personality, sense of humour, was really really smart and was just really slightly better than average looks. what clinched it for her was her attitude. we were like oil and water, unfortunately..

One theme I have run into over and over again over the years is: Everyone enjoys a challenge. There is a thin line between "available" and "too easy". People get suspiscious of anything just handed to them on a platter.

There is a certain game to Romance, it is intrigue, it is enticing, it is fun, it is scary, or it wouldn't be romance. It would be hooking up. Nobody values things that are always there, that are always waiting. Guys would rather chase the bird in the bush, than stay with the one that is in their hand. It's never hard for girls to get a guy. ANY girl can get a guy no matter how ugly she is. Well, maybe not a deep, meaningful relationship, but otherwise, every girl can get a guy.

Cornflower and RL are in agreement, and they are both right. The only problems a gal can have when she is too picky, or is forced to live in an environment where the gal/guy ratio is very high.

Hi!

That was such a sweet yet funny story. From the other perspective, sometimes it's nearly impossible to tell if a guy likes you. One guy used to stare at me then his buddy and him would talk then go back to staring (as if I wouldn’t notice).

Reminds me of a time when I and a buddy debated at the bar whether gals would notice if you were staring at the b**bs or the face. I said yes, he was not so sure. I proposed an experiment - he stepped a few meters away from me, and I started to switch staring at his eyes and then his chest, and the back again. That proved the point.

Being young, this made me self-conscious… does my hair look funny? Did I just smear my eye shadow? Why are these guys staring and talking about me from across the room?

Well, now you know. In general, young men are much less interested in makeup that young women. We are also much more tolerant of bad hair days than you are.

Yes, there are about 106 boys born for each 100 girls. With middle-age health care that was about evened out when people reached marriage age, but since the medicine has advanced. Nowadays, the gender ratio is about even at age 55 or so (according to Swedish census data), when most people have already married.

Another thing (in Sweden, at least) is that there are significant immigration minority groups which on a regular basis pair up with Swedish girls, but their girls very rarely pair up with Swedish guys. This makes the stats game that much harder to play for the (Swedish) guy.
