Array Craig, any news? Anyone checked in? -

Array The USFA is checking that email address and posting the names of those who have checked in. If you go to the usfencing.org web site their announcement is at the top of the page and the link takes you to the list.
So far a number of fencers have checked in.

Array How about former fencers? NY is a hotbed of fencing, and many fencers who no longer compete work in the area. Not naming people who might be casualties, but some former fencers are Jerome Demarque, Al Carlay, Alan Weber, Nat Cohen. I presume they're living and working in NYC, and very likely in the WTC. -
The Virginia Academy of Fencing was closed last night, and I am unaware if any of our members work in the Pentagon. Tonight we should be open, and we'll let folks know if anyone was affected by this attack... Array One of the local fencing coaches in Michigan, David Wayt of The One on One Fencing club was out in Washington DC during the terrorist strikes, but I got a call today saying he was ok and his club would be back in operation once he's able to make it back.

Array I read in the NYTimes that a Paul Friedman flew out of Boston to LA on flight AA 11. Is that our Paul Friedman? -

Array From the USFA website:
<<Also, Brown University student Paul Friedman reports that he is alive and well and was not the "Paul Friedman" on board one of the flights. >> - Epee is the Louis Vuitton bag of fencing: only the best can get it, and the rest of the masses must content themselves with cheap knockoffs (sabre, foil)

I mean, it's nice to know that Paul is still up and about in Brown. My condolences to the family of the Paul Friedman who did die, as well as others. Similar Threads -
