    Club at Mystic?

I'm going to be studying at Mystic Seaport in Connecticut next semester. Does anyone know if there's a fencing club near there, or will I have to be sad and leave my gear in Tennessee? Thanks!

Oh, and I already tried to find this out using club directories.

ok.. so i am not exactly sure if that info is correct anymore... but i fence there.. and so do a few other people on this board... soo.. if you need any info.. you can ask!

There is Candlewood and ICONN but ICONN is like 45-55 minutes away, and candlewood is like an hour and a half!!!!

EDIT ::According to yahoo maps its 24 minutes, but i am sure its less than that... Either way its the closest one, and you should come!

By my estimate, more like 30 minutes, but it also depends on where you're living and when you're going, as traffic makes a difference.

Hello BMCFencer. I'm the secretary for Thames River Fencing Club. We are located about 20-30 minutes from the Mystic Seaport. If you are interested in our fencing hours, guest rates, or directions feel free to private message me on the board.

    Edit: Do you fence.... EPEE?

Oh wow, thanks! This is exciting. Though I'm not sure I'm going to have a way of coming to visit, since I won't have a car.... I'll bring my gear and hope for the best. wOOt!!!! To bad I can't just... boat over. I'm told the boat to student ratio for the program I'm doing is something like 12 to 1.

    And yes, I fence sabre.

We are kinda small saber wise, but we are a good club, and there are a few of them around.... And you can always attempt to convert some of us to saber..... which should be fun!

Ooooh, converting people is fun. Though the club I'm running now is mostly foil, so I'll be so out of practice by January I won't know what to do with myself. With luck I'll get to fence sabre in Tennessee during break. wOOt!!

I'm not ready to add another weapon. I'm old and set in my ways. Maybe when nobody's looking.....
