Array Complete 2005 World Championships Coverage at Fencing.Net! I am very pleased to announce that fencing.net will feature full coverage of the 2005 World Championships.
FencingPhotos.com will provide a daily dose of pictures from the 2005 World Championships that highlight the action and intensity inherent in fencing.
In addition to the photographic content, fencing.net has a dedicated reporter who will be at the venue for the duration providing daily event recaps as well as other stories and interviews that develop from the event.
Fencing.Net's event coverage will be submitted by Kevin Mar, head coach of the Washington Fencing Academy.
Kevin Mar is a contributing photographer for FencingPhotos.com and co-founder of the Washington Fencing Academy. He has photographed fencing at national competitions and studied fencing over the last 7 years. He has written articles for newspapers and magazines and Kevin is currently writing a book on goal setting. He is also a competitive epeeist and vice-chair of the Western Washington Division of the USFA.
Kevin will join FencingPhotos.com owner and Official FIE Photographer Serge Timacheff in Leipzig to provide Fencing.Net's readers with the most focused coverage available of the 2005 Fencing World Championships.
Please welcome Kevin to the Fencing.Net team.

Array Hi Everyone ...
Our first few photos are up on the www.fencingphotos.com home page from last night's men's epee and women's foil finals here in Leipzig. It was a GREAT final for men's epee, with Kolobkov beating Fabrice Jeannet 15-14 in overtime, and Vezzali winning her first gold since Athens -- and since having a baby just four months ago. A day with lots of surprises ...
We'll be posting lots of new action and victory shots as they occur -- for now, we're catching up with everything that's going on here.

In the Fencing.net store, in the Epee DVD section, everywhere in descriptions Fischer is listed as (SWE) and 'c' is missing from his last name
A couple of exmples: Bratislava DVD:
Semi Final Bouts: Fisher (SWE) vs. Kovacs (HUN) Vancouver DVD:
Semi Final Bouts:
Mattern (USA) vs. Fisher (SWE)
I think it should be corrected. Olympic Champion deserves to be listed as he should be.
It is Fischer SUI not Fisher SWE Marcel Fischer website

Array Hi everyone & greetings from Leipzig ...
Corbis.com -- the stock/assignment agency (they're partnered with Reuters) for which I shoot -- featured fencing as the top story today on their sports page, coming in above baseball and football ...
The story is also cycling on their home page between entertainment and news.
I attached an example for you all to see.
A good day for making fencing more visible to the world! www.corbis.com

Array The new grounded strips produced by Artos and being used here in Leipzig are interesting ... kind of like ripstop nylon ... fabric, very light, thin, and colorful. Many fencers are wondering if they will also be durable for the long range. Some fencers take issue with the fact that they don't make a metallic sound when a blade hits the strip (as with the metal strips) -- there's no difference in sound between the strip and the off-strip carpet.
Anyone been hearing about them? -
Does anyone know what they cost? -

Array Slightly more than a metal strip.
But you save a lot on shipping costs, because they're much lighter.
(On the other hand ... I don't know about repairs!) -

I stand corrected. I am trying to read the profiles which are in German so I thought it was a world cup that she won that year! Similar Threads -
