a) go get some fresh air.
b) meet a real woman (not one on the Internet) and get laid
c) work on your fencing
d) all of the above
Actually anything but sit in front of your monitor.
Your geekness is taking over that nice boy your mother thinks you are.

Your geekness is taking over that nice boy your mother thinks you are. | So I should go outside, take a hike to Canada, meet you in person, and then fence you? |

I do this because I can't stand using only one keyboard. I find my current setup most comfortable for typing. Just like playing on multiple musical keyboards! For that matter, I can't stand using only one monitor at a time either. It's so.... claustrophobic.
I'm attaching a couple of shots of the "cockpit" where I do all my computing. Unfortunately, my setup has shed away many displays over the years of moving around alot. So what you see here is only a fraction of what used to be at one point, a 360-degrees surround-view cockpit.
So, yes, you could say that I like MegaTokyo.

| Have you tried swapping the two keyboards out for one ergonomic kb? My split kb is the greatest thing since sliced bread! Although I have trouble typing on normal keyboards now. I feel like the keys are so tiny and like my fingers have no room to type.

I did go to this setup after years of using Microsoft Natural "split" keyboard. Just think of the difference between your ergonomic keyboard and normal "layperson" keyboard. Now stretch out the difference even more. Like spreading arms out more.
The following are links to some of my favorite keyboard designs out there. Example of chair-mounted split keyboard Among my favorites... Maltron Dual Handed Keyboard
I do like my current setup better, though, now that I've gotten used to them. Not only does this setup allow me to separate each hand's function, but I can also share the "middle zone" of the keyboard between both hands. i.e.) my left hand is responsible for approximately 2/3 left of the keyboard, while the right hand covers the right 1/2 and two numeric keypads. Another advantage is that while my right hand is flying over its area of responsibility, my left hand can hop over to the left mouse.
My general "computing posture" is more or less similar to a left-handed Sabre fencer on guard. |

| I would like something like the chair thing in fact I have thought about all the things I would like to have in a chair to ease stress and what not (adjustable armrests are in my experience an absolute must in a computer chair!). I want to make a chair accessory, with a keyboard and mouse tray.

| Here's someone who wanted to really jazz up his "chair." Cabinet maker got bored...
And someone who went a little further.. Jam's Computing Chair
What these guys have done are where I am going down the line, more or less. While their bent is more flight-sim based, I'm probably going toward Anime-inspired generic Mech cockpit. My current setup is just a prototype for layout that would be most comfortable for my own use, rather than having it be an exact replica of military hardware. All made possible by recent innovations on computer peripherals... Backlit keyboards, HOTAS (Hands-On-Throttle-And-Stick) joysticks, multi-display video cards, electrical switch-to-keyboard-input translators, you name it... These are wonderful times to be a geek! |
