Array I saw it last weekend. I found it to be very well done. My son summed it up best when he said that it felt like a series finale. I tend to agree. I can't help thinking that this is what might have played out if the series had continued. In any event, it provides some good closure to the series. So good, in fact, that I would hate to see a sequel. Anything more would just feel contrived. One test is worth a thousand opinions. Array Serenity I couldn't imagine there being a series afte the movie especially after they decided to dispose of Wash and Shepard Book. It just wouldn't be the same. (By the way, did anybody notice the theme music at the end of the credits? They should've had it in the titles!) -

It opened at second (after Flightplan, I believe, which had already been out for a week). It's fallen quickly. IMDB says that it had grossed only $18 million as of the 7th. With a budget of about $40 million, that's not that much. As I understand it, there was talk of wanting $80 million for the sequel to be a shoo-in. Sigh. And for that figure they were really only counting domestic grosses.
I can't remember where I saw it - probably Fireflyfans.net - but Joss posted last night sounding rather grim about another movie.
Really, I just want it back on TV. But that clearly isn't happening. -
I thought Serenity was excellent so I bought the Firefly DVD and watched all the episodes, also very good I found it wholly entertaining but as for people comparing to LOTR and Star Wars...you can't really, Serenity is a Scifi western, LOTR and Star Wars...those are like legends/myths with all the archetypes and storylines, both I found very good with the exception of Attack of the Clones (shudders) -

What the hell did you do to RL? He doesn't talk about Star Trek. He's not nice, or complimentary. WHat did you do, get him neutered? My world has been turned upside down. I'm so confused. -
Has anyone else had a chance to read the Serenity comic that covers the events between the series and movie? -
