Pretty much spot on, except I'd remove one of the Chinese, maybe even both, Geza, and Robatsch.

In place of these, I'd put a Ukrainian, perhaps Karyuchenko, as well as Fernandez (VEN), and a German guy (don't know which though)
    • Epee is the Louis Vuitton bag of fencing: only the best can get it, and the rest of the masses must content themselves with cheap knockoffs (sabre, foil)
    • To not recognize the power of the French grip is to be in denial

You might be surprised! Both of them are fencing quite well ...

ROBEIRI Ulrich won the 2005 Heidenheimer GP
JEANNET Jerome won the 2005 Monal GP

Fabrice might do it again. He has the talent. (Bonus points if Air France is involved again )

I'm completely out of this past season's fencing, so I'm taking a wild stab at this.

MF: Sanzo, Guyart, Kleinbrink, Moltchan, Vanni, that new-ish chinese guy.
I'm guessing a chinese gold medalist.

MS: Pillet; some Hungarian (maybe Ferjancsik); Lapkes; no italians in top-8; Podz will make top-8, but not medal; Lee will make top-8, maybe medal; Ukrainian, not Tretiak.

ME: Fischer will do well (now that he's got the bug off his back), Lei Wang will do the Kung Fu hustle on several others. A Ukrainian, Thompson will make top-16, possibly top-8. Throw a spaniard in the top-8, as well as a frenchie. No gerrys in the top-8. Ok, probably a Hungarian should be in there as well.

WF: Gruchala will win it, unless Trillini's still fencing. I've been watching the 2004 Olympics WFI and, boy, is Trillini so much better of a fencer than Vezzali. Vezzali has ice flowing through her veins, though, while Trillini is technically a better fencer, with better body control and strength.

WS: Zagunis, Jacobson, Jacobson in the top-8 with Zag winning it. The usual suspects: Xue, Gheorgiotititoaitia, Jemaevya, Marzocca, Touya will also make top-8.

WE: Heidemann, Flessel-Colovic, Louganova, that Sophie Lamont from Switzerland, some gal from Sweden, a cuban, canadian, and a Korean.

    MFT: Italy over China
    MST: US over Ukraine
    MET: Hungary over France
WST: US over any other possible country
WFT: Italy over any other possible country
    WET: Russia over Germany

You've been smoking some good stuff, haven't you?

Men's Sabre Team top four will include the usual suspects:

    Russia, Italy, France and Hungary.

Men's Sabre individual top eight strong probables include Yakimenko, Lukashenko, Podzniakov, Nemcsik (Ferjancsik isn't fencing any more, I think), and Montano. Maybe either Limbach (who's been fencing very well) or Kraus from Germany. Probably Pillet or some other French guy. Covaliu tends to show up in the finals of events like this. Tarantino is an outsider to make the final, but you never know.

Women's Sabre: I'd love to see Sada win it--I think she and Zagunis will be in the final, along with, as EDEW says, the usual suspects.

Women's Sabre Team--I think the US wins this, defeating either Italy or Russia in the final.
Why sabre? Because you don't take heads with the point.

As much as I would love to see it I doubt any swede will place in the top eight...

My predictions for Womens Épée (top 8) is Imke Duplitzer, Marijana Markovic, Laura FLessel-Colovic, Sherraine Mackay, Sophie Lamon, Ana Branza, Hajnalka Kiraly-Picot and Anna Sivkova.
    Fencing is my only PvP.

Perhaps a little boring, but for men's foil the safe money is on Le Pechoux or maybe Sanzo, and Italy to win the team.

Can't be Jacobson, Jacobson. Emily didn't make the team this year. Becca Ward is the third spot, with Caity Thompson rounding out the team. I think Mariel will do well but Sada will finish higher. Men's sabre will do really really well and I predict two in the three (but I'm not naming names!).

I have to say that this list looks pretty good to me, though I don't know much about Imre.

It'll be interesting to see how our American fencers will do. I hope that Cody can improve his rank so we can get two people in the top 32 (meaning that we can send more people to GPs!).

So once you start getting on the lists can we list you as Army Fencer?

    Mens Foil

    LE PECHOUX Erwan (FRA)
    SANZO Salvatore (ITA)
    BISSDORF Ralf (GER)
    ZHANG Liangliang (CHN)
    BALDINI Andrea (ITA)
    KLEIBRINK Benjamin (GER)
    ZHU Jun (CHN)
    OTA Yuki (JPN)

You may laugh at this list now but in my opinion these people have adapted best to the new timings. Why OTA? have you seen the guy on the new timings? I dont think he will win, just do very well. I would put my money on a Le Pechoux - Sanzo final though.

    But anything can happen!
