Bah. The Norse drank mead. You're thinking of the Rus, who were only cousins-german to the Norse...

And anyway, it antedates the Viking period by some centuries. So there!

Mead works.. I have several bottles of 15 year old mead left in the cellar. Made it with honey from my father-in-law's bees.

Actually, at the time when the Norse drank mead, the Rus also drank mead.
As you've correctly stated, vodka is a much later invention. There were urban legends that it was invented by Mendeleyev, who then got so drunk on it that he proceeded to invent the periodic table without waking up.
While in reality vodka is much older than that, it does not go to Viking times, and most likely did not appear before XIV century.

Hope this was more educational than boring. Now, let's drink some.

You know, "wom pom" is almost certainly an offensive term to Native Americans. Show a little cultural sensitivity, heap big ots!
