| I told you before, I already know what it tastes like. ( Not chicken, unfortunately. ) I was marooned, remember? Nothing else to eat?
Now that wolf, maybe he's not satiated yet, I dunno, fair warning.
Me, I just want my foot back.

| Climb higher, Lemur! Wolves can jump!
If you hadn't stepped on my foot I would let you behind the couch, where it's relatively safe. Alas for you.
Is it just me, or has this party gotten kind of somnolent? ( And I don't mean just the still-sleeping? Louweasel. )

| <----- grabs 3 random people and starts dancing the can-can with them to the strangely appropriate Beach Boys song that just came on. Hilarity and hijinks ensue which, before three hours have passed, will involve the local constabulary twice, a series of delicious but unidentified shots, an impromptu classical guitar performance by a sabreuse, and one southern novelist.

| The Southern Novelist
a concoction prepared lovingly by Scrapinpeg in the wee hours
(When we were kids, we had chemistry sets. Now that we're adults, we still have them, and we get to drink the experiments. Hooray for growing up!)
Into a shaker, toss some ice cubes and as much bourbon as you can stand.
Add a splash of blue curacao, to represent the mournful tones of a rueful secret.
Carefully drip some bitters in, to represent the catty backstabbing of a sweetly smiling belle.
Prepare a shot of vodka, then pour the shot down the sink, to commemorate lost opportunity, lost grandeur, and the perpetual separation of the classes. That's a lot to ask of a shot, but that's the way it goes.
Melt a cube of sugar in a tablespoon of hot water, to represent a sticky summer night when the dresses are diaphanous and desires are painful. Splash that into the shaker.
Shake the mix up as violently as a rape scene, and strain it like the relations of an embittered family.
Garnish with a lemon peel, because that just seems to work.

| Cabernet Sauvignon anyone? *sits on kitchen worktop and swings feet against cupboards* I've got a date tomorrow night, with an army officer. He's a lieutenant. But he's leaving soon to work in the City (like your Wall Street).

I don't know, I expect it's something historical, or because we are a bit weird. It's a french word originally though so in theory it should be lyur-tuh-non. Meaning holding the place...hmmmm...odd. Any militarists with input?
B the way I'm in that certain kind of mood which means that I am going to rest my head on the shoulder of the next tall guy that walks past. So much the better if he is broad shouldered. Be warned.

An army officer? It's the uniform, isn't it? *sigh* Maybe that's what I need...
*Pours himself a glass of whatevers in the closest bottle*
