| What, exactly, is the allure of living in the gutter and being uneducated? "Oh, I'm a gangster called joe, I'm from the ghetto, I can barely string words together to form a sentence, let alone rhyme..." |

| I don't have a clue. I can get why some would idolize some of the more successful rap/hip hop artists, though why even bother talking a big game when you haven't even put half as much dedication and effort as they have? Granted, I don't really like that kind of "music", though I can respect someone who can bring himself out of the gutter.

| Or in some cases out of the middle-class suburbs. But as HL Mencken said, "No one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public". Or, as someone else said, "There's a sucker born every minute, and two to take him".
Did I just hear HAY talking about "hot ruttered bum" awhile ago? What's THAT all about?!
Lou, how'd your holidate go? ( You needn't feel that you have to tell us, really, I just wanted to use the word "holidate". )

| The party was great, thanks for asking Inq! I had a fab time and everyone was really lovely and friendly, I chatted to lots of people. There were copious quantities of cava and some good champagne for midnight itself, at which point I got a very nice new year kiss...

| It's a function of fencing foil, you know. Switch to sabre, it'll do you a world of good.

| Sabre -would that stop the "arg I sent him a text message at twenty five past six saying I'd sent him photos of the party as promised and would he let me know they'd got through ok, and now it's ten past seven and he hasn't replied what if he's gone off me and is about to give me the brush-off?!?!?!" -based panic?
OK I may now be in that bathroom at the party, sitting on the side of the bath, having a deep and meaningful with whoever will listen, but bloody hell, I really like him and I am SO worried he doesn't like me, at least, I think he does, but he's just quite cautious and restrained - but what if I'm wrong and he's just not that into me and I am dragging him along with my powerful weaselly personality. I'm far too used to boys not liking me it's damn near impossible to believe that one of them would and I'm in danger of becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy and Im over-thinking things again and WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE GET ME ANOTHER DRINK!!!!!!!

| And a bottle of oxygen. And a group hug.
Breathe, sweetie. Breathe.
PS Yes, sabre will help. It's a panacea.

| Welcome back Go?F? !
Oof, it's been a hard day at work and tomorrow will be fraught as well. Glad I'm able to relax at this party. Also spent ages on the phone to the scotsman so that's cheered me.
I'm making martinis; would anyone like one?

| I'll take a Cosmopolitan, please.
Or else a Cape Codder.

| Ahh, nothing like a nice 'civilized' party to get un-stressed from a boat-load of boring school work...
No, I don't need a martini; though I will take ginger ale...a flat ginger ale that is.

| Think I'll have another cream soda. Wish I could've gone to a party, though I wasn't invited to any. *shrugs* Did someone say fish?

| No, just the flat ginger ale; I'll take a slice a fruit if you're putting anything in the martinis though.
