That's true enough. As my French teacher put it, "There's no point in being American." When he and his family travel in Europe, they all speak French all the time.

Rough week for the old boy... first to be teased by Craig with the possibility of the end of rep, only to have them put back in place.... now being roasted... gosh it's enough to make him want to pretend he's taken up epee just to have people be nicer to him....

You know, when I want people to be nicer to me, I tell them little white lies. Like "if you're not nicer to me right now, I'm going to cut off the OTHER ear, muddyfukky, you hear me!"
Just because you have the right, that doesn't mean it is right.

Would you take a look at this for me? Think this mole looks OK, or should I have a doctor check it out?

    I get it!
I get a squirrel attached to me, and now everyone's got a rodent attached to them!

What the devil are you talking about? I'm wondering if this growth is malignant, not whether it's a rodent! Jeez, it's all about you, isn't it?

Oh, do YOU have an MD? I heard some folks talking recently about you getting an M-something... Oh, was that the Roman numeral M? My mistake.

It works very well. As long as you're going to France.
(And parts of Belgium and Switzerland.)

He'll probably get by easier if he spoke english.

Well, most of the time they do go to France. When his kids were younger, they lived in France for several years, so they're all fluent.

Speaking of fluency, at what point is one considered "fluent"? I mean, there's all kinds of vocabulary I don't have in my own native language, but I consider myself fluent in it.

Well, fluent means flowing, so I suppose you'd be fluent when you can express your thoughts relatively freely.

Have you noticed that some of the guests here are great at flowing effortlessly from topic to topic, while others resort to jarringly abrupt non sequiturs?

I need new socks. I never think to buy them, though.

I read a book once called "The Joy of Soxs", it was very confusing... no socks... just pictures of naked men and women... how are you supposed to find out about the Joy of Soxs from that???

Well, it would have been joyful if they had been wearing socks. It was cold at that photo shoot, so I've heard.
