| Knickers? Alrighty.....I need new knickers. The current problem with the ones I have include:
1) The suspenders don't stay attached, no matter how I cross them or tie them or kanoodle them to.
2) The zipper doesn't stay zipped. After every bout, I have to reach under my jacket and zip them. God forbid I forget one time, I'll be flashing the entire world (a scary thought for all).
3) They have a patch sewn over my maiden name, bearing my married name in black magic marker. I've been married for over four years, so I'd like to think it's permanent enough to actually have stenciled (sp?) onto the stupid pants.
So here's what I need: I need suggestions of who's knickers to buy. I'm going to the Miami NAC, and I plan on getting myself a shiny new pair there. I want a good price, they don't have to be FIE (as I'm probably never going to the Olympics or a World Cup), and they MUST have a back pocket!
Edit: One more thing....they can't make my butt look the size of the Titanic (which is difficult in white pants.)
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

| I've only owned PBT knickers, but I like them a lot. Back pocket, the zipper (generally) stays up, a nice bit of give in the material, and they weren't too expensive, either.

-FG33 | You know that these three points and the title of your thread make this quite ... amusing ... from a UK point of view!
God only knows why you need a zipper on your knickers.
And as for that stuff about the suspenders ... well pass me the ice bucket. |

| Oooohhhhh! Good point! I guess "knickers" in the UK are underwear, aren't they? Still, I'm dissappointed that you have no suggestions for underwear with a back pocket and a zipper that stays up! |

| women look great in breeches I've heard them called knickers by a local englishman... but more usually he calls them breeches.
Anyways, in re the comment she makes about her butt looking large in breeches... actually i find that most women who fence actually look better in their uniform than they would in street clothes.
And hey!! Let us all remember it was another englishman who said "Fat Bottomed Girls make the rockin' world go 'round!"
I really like triplette's stuff now. Women also tend to look great in Negrini or Leon Paul.
I say try them all on and see what makes the husband start drooling again...buy those.

| Try Duellist Evolution knickers ( www.duellistsusa.com). They have a back pocket and a good zipper. Unlikely to be at the Miami NAC, though. Website says they are under new management...haven't ordered since then, but you could likely get them before the NAC |

| Well.....my first pair of knickers was Santelli's stretchy ones. No back pocket. The crappy pair I have now that I hate is Triplette...big surprise there. All Star would be nice, but I think they're kinda pricy, aren't they? |

| Absolute Fencing has some really nice stuff, for cheap. Don't get blue-gauntlet though. they're stuff is absolute crap. not only that, but the company sucks in general. One time, I ordered a foil, body cord, and foil lame from them. the foil's grip was a size larger than I ordered, the socket a two-prong socket, the body cord was two-prong instead of bayonet, (all my other stuff has bayonet tips, and I like to mix and match) and the lame fit me like a barley sack! Not only that, but the stupid people didn't even send me any paperwork with it, so they wouldn't let me return it. I managed to swap out the socket on the foil and body cord, but I ended up buying yet another lame (from absolute, fits like a dream).
Anyone want to buy a size 42 right hand unisex blue-gauntlet lame? |

They're a little pricey...but the extra cash (in my opinion) is way worth it...they fit really well, stay reasonably dry...and cure cancer...and allow you to walk on water and shoot laser beams from your eyes. (I love these Knickers). I'm not too sure about the other options out there though, I'm sure there are some great alternatives.

The longer I'm involved in fencing, the more insane I find it that there are two different safety standards. Always go for the most protection-if not for yourself then for your family.

| for a cheap pair of FIE knickers, try the estoc, sold by sword masters. They're nice and cushiony, and sliiiiicckk as lubed ice.

| I don't know if I'd call the Estoc's "cheap" but they are definitely top of the line in my book. Very comfy. Very cushiony. And they do feel.... pretty good!
