Any odds if these are some of the 400-500 or so NO police which haven't been reporting in these days?
"At a news conference earlier Monday in New Orleans, Deputy Police Superintendent Warren Riley said between 400 and 500 officers on the 1,600-member police force are unaccounted for." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...090501146.html A number of New Orleans police patrol cars have been spotted in Houston since Hurricane Katrina struck — several of which are now being stored in HPD parking lots, officials said. Details about how the patrol cars arrived in Houston remained sketchy, more than a week after the devastating storm caused major flooding in the city. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory...olitan/3342864
And while I may be scarcastic with that remark, I also want to recognize there have been some police officer and other emergency services folks in NO who have been trying their hardest to do the best they can and do the right thing in almost impossible conditions. My hat is off to them... but not to some of these others...
