No, actually.
But when I fenced at at a university club in MN, we used to have a tradition called "bell-guard scuffing." Whenever a fencer (especially a new one) would get a new weapon or shiney new bell guard, we'd sneak it away from him, yell "bell-guard scuffing!", and scrape his bell-guard with our foils. ...the club was definitely more about having fun than doing footwork ...surely there must be other clubs that do this?...
