The shootings or hijackings are not as wide spread as the media would lead you to believe. Yes, a helicopter was shot at, and an ambulance from Acadian Ambulance was broken in to(they stole heart medicine I think) but for the most part people in the city just want to get out and survive. | Interesting. You didnt dispute what YeOld said, but rather downplayed the events and conditions he described. Are you suggesting Mormegil be less vigilant than YeOlde is recommending? Or are you just making excuses for poor behavior.
It doesnt matter WHY people are behaving this way when they are potentially a threat to your life.
Be safe down there brother. |

Perhaps you would rather I help you point fingers at the victims of tragedy.

I know this harsh advice to have to killed another human but it a war zone when they are shooting at rescue copters and hicjacking Amb and steal drugs from parameds in there to help. Take care. | Tim! I'm concerned, you sound shell shocked. I hope you are alright. Take care and for our Nat Guard, be on the lookout for stray dogs, hungry ones, bring dog chow. I'm proud of New Orleanians, even though they had a few bad moments; I can't imagine how it must have felt to be stuck in that weather, with NO LIGHTS! --- NO FOOD! It's unreal.
As far as "Looting" goes; in these cases, please let the folks have food/clothing/medicines/and other necessities for their survival; please don't expect someone to "whip out" a few hundred dollars in a food store, with water up past their wazzo. It's plain common sence. In storms like that, you can only hope to drag out a floatable and make it to some place else. In Typhoon Paka, we used: BUTANE BURNERS....they're cheap and you can boil water and make rice . |

| Thank you well guys, they gave me a few days off. WEstley, you need to re-evaluate your thinking a little bit. New Orleans is a wonderful lady. A little dirty and old, but there is an elegance that surrounds the city, minus some of the unpleasantness that is there, but that is a part of the charm also. The media has been a little harsh on the city. yeah it was bad down there, now food and water for a while, still flooded in some parts of the area. but there has been a lot of good happening, help from alll over the country, texas and new york to name a few, even from around the world. i and everyone else that has any love for new orleans is eternally grateful for the help that has been brought here. i appreciate all of your support on the forum. you guys and gals rock.
