| Long Beach Invitational - Who's going Hi,
I thought there was a thread open about LBI 2005, but I didn't find it.
Anyway, is anyone going? I'll be fencing in the mixed epee event, and I'd like to find someone who's willing to share a hotel room. If you're an EPEE fencer, don't snore, and are ready to room with a French guy, let me know by PM.
Thanks

| Will be there for foil only this time. Might have some teammates doing saber.

| I don't see any "veecos" on the list.
Are you going to be in the Bay Area first (for work or otherwise) before heading down to LB, or are you flying directly to LB?

| I will be there for the sabre, as usual. There will most likely be at least 6 or 7 others coming along from my club. |

| I'm going, and I'll do epee for sure. Unless I am hurting I'll do foil too. With gas prices like they are I am thinking about a car pool. This website needs a ride board |

If anyone is interested in carpooling (I'm in Walnut Creek, CA), PM me.

2 years in a row...on the same strip both times (back by the armor table)...I think I got, what....one touch??
Besides...I haven't really fenced foil very much since I started selling gear...and when I DO gear up at SwordPlay, I'm reminded of how much I've lost!!
The only reason I consider sabre is because that's what I'm teaching, so at least I getg a weapon in my hand occasionally! |

| Purp, I haven't been fencing foil so much, so maybe you can get two or so touches.
Counterattack, I'm driving down as well, but I'm going down on Friday afternoon and staying with a relative in SB Friday evening. Drive the rest of the way on Saturday, staying over Saturday night and then drive up after the event on Sunday, staying at SB again and then cruise on home Monday morning.
Have a Prius, so it'll probably cost me 20 gallons or $5,000 for gas.
I'm doing 101 up and down, so I'll have some nice scenic driving as well (I can't stand I-5: it's soooo boring).

| I'll probably be there -- but to watch and check out the vendor's tables since I'm looking to pick up a couple of things.
*laughing* I haven't been in a competition in like 20 years, so I know my score sheet would have a bunch of goose-eggs on it... So I'll check out the competition (*evil grin*), and watch for a while. I'm planning on being in at least one competition at Long Beach this year, since they're pretty local to me -- but man, the competition at the LBI looks pretty intense. |

| I was going to go, but I only have $$ for a couple on-the-road competitions. My coach told me to go to the Albequerque NAC instead. If you see any fencers from Utah Valley Fencing (most likely wearing black sweats) wave or kick them or something. |

In other words, make sure your equipment is legal and don't give the excuse that it was passed somewhere else. We have one of SEMI that makes the rules.
You will learn a lot.
