| I missed the DE's but know that the final 4 will include Streb (USA seeded 1st) vs. Cohen (UK); Mormondo (USA) vs. Korfanty (USA).
Will be leaving soon to watch the finals |

| Oh, sweet. If you come back home (or whereever you are) afterwards, let us know the results. Thanks a lot.
My prediction is Cohen over Korfanty for the Gold. |

| Cohen (GBR) defeated Streb (USA) in the semi-final, Korfanty (USA) defeated Mormando (USA) in the other sem-final. Cohen over Korfanty in the gold medal bout.
In the Vet-60 WS, Gruenke (Germany) defeated Felty (USA) for the gold.

| I had a good breakfast, got my backup lame stenciled when my primary lame failed the weapons control, kept score for the Vet-60 WS event, watched a bunch of fencing, and sat in the hot tub chatting with some fellow WS fencers, so I think I did pretty well.
In other words, I don't fence until Sunday

| Larry Pinkus won the 60+ MS, defeating Wolf Nettinsmeier in the gold medal bout. There were a number of upsets in the tableau so none of the Americans made it into the top four--I think the two bronze medalists were French.

| Don't quote me but Bill said at dinner he thought he was 14th--he was seeded 9th coming into the DE table, I think.

| Wolfgang Gieger, who was 6th in Men's 60+ Sabre, trains with us occasionally, and was on my cobbled-together team for the German Vet Team nationals--a pretty good result for him--does anyone know how Delia (Peach) is doing?

| I see my friend Peter Urban did pretty well in Men's 60+ Saber. He spends part of the year in Ocala and trains with us pretty often. I wish I could have gone to cheer him on, but somebody had to stay back in Gainesville and run the class for the kids on Saturday morning. A pretty large group from here went down for Korfanty's saber clinic and I guess they probably stayed to watch the fencing.
