| I would love to have an opinion and comment, but am not familiar with the various teams.
Where can I go to learn who is on each countries team, get scores during the games, standings, etc?
I am looking forward to the French poetry however, because I am learning French and it will give me some text to practice on!!

Well, the easist thing to do is go to the FIE homepage and take a look a the standings!
Right now for example, Germany has 3 men's foilists in the top 8. Do they have a good chance of beating France. I think so.
Also, you can take a look at federation websites. Like the USFA, the other federations usually announce the teams, complete with photos...
Lastly, you can just choose your favorite country. Like if your French, choose the French fencers...
And yeah, I think the poetry bet is much better than the pushups...
I mean who cares about someone doing pushups, but someone extolling the virtues of another country, and humilliating France?
That's excitement! |

| FORZA AZZURI
The Ites are gonna kick ARSE!
The French have no hope!
Womens sabre is soooooo open even South Africa could win it (but they wont, why? cos they arent sending ANY frmale sabreurs*).
I am hoping for all South Africa's epeeists to make it through to the first round of DE and then for 1 or 2 of them to make it to the 2nd round of DE.
I dont think they will progress beyond there...
We will be lucky if any of our foilists make it into the DE.
FORZA AZZURI!!!!!!!!!!!
BOKKE!!!!!!!!
* Female sabreurs??? isnt that an oxymoron? |

| Put your money where your keyboard is...go to the water cooler section of the fencing discussion. There's a topic called World Championships Free and Fun (or something like that). Make your guesses and we'll see who's closer come mid November.

| For everyone,
Check out the "World Championship Game. Free and possibly fun." topic in the Water Cooler.
Enter your submission and see how it turns out.
It's free. Not necessarily fast. It possibly could be fun. |

| You can't go past the Italain Chicks to take out the foil title its already theirs they are just going to france to pick it up, even though i would love to see someone give them a run for their money it won't happen and will we already know who will take out the individual title Vezzali unless some how someone creates a massive upset which is highley unlikely.
Women's epee i find very interesting because there are so many ppl that can win it eithere way i won't be surprised if Cascioli, Duplitzer, Bokel, Mincza, Nagy, Flessel, Burki take out top honours. Team wise i wouldn't write off the germans i saw them fence at the Sydney WC and they were absolutley awesome against the Italinas in the final, for Hungary to take it out it will really depend on how they perform individually esp. Mincza.
I think the russians will do the double in the mens saber. Mens epee will probably be a three way battle between the Italians, russians and French but don't discount the Hungarians they are a surprise package.
Womens Saber looks like it will involve the USA, russians and french battling for the gold with the Germans and Hungarinas and outside possibility. Mens foil i can see going to the germans for some strange reasons don't me why

| If there are actual complete coverage (that is, one or two hours per day), please tape them. I can make copies here and distribute them to US fencing audience.

| well guys, as i said i dont know if it will be on tv, i hope so !
but 2 problem : im in france so :
tape will be on a french format+french language, and tv only show stuff about french in fencing, and usually, only finals ..
then, last problem, france isnt that closed to USA ... and for the moment i only have a modem, so cant put anything big online ..
anyway, as i did for OG, i ll tape what will be on tv, but for sure it will be about french, cose usually, no fencing at all on tv, so, for sure, they wont show stuff where french arent involved... |

| I wonder if the Hungarians will do any good seeing as they really stuffed up at the Olympics with the exception of Nagy and maybe Mohamed and Ferjancsik in their individual events

| No problem with french. Last year, I got the Olympic Games in swedish and I don't think I got any specific complaints about the language. It was better than that James Chambers guy from England (everything is a parry-riposte).
I know france doesn't use the same PAL system common to the rest of Europe. No problem, I have a multi-system VCR which can translate from one system to another. I also got a TiBook, and am looking into burning DVDs instead of tapes. That will save some money on the shipping, but might cost a bit more on cutting and duplicating the DVDs.
At the moment, don't expect DVDs, although they might be available.

| Oooo DVDs.... frame by frame examination of the action. That would be nice. I will pay extra for that.
