There will be. I don't think this is the appropriate thread as this is really about a mini-series on telly.

Have you tried contact the FIS (Itlaian Federation).

Back to topic.

Still no word on when this will be show.

I did not find the show very entertaining, so I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

I strongly disagree. Until Deadwood comes back on the air, this is the only show worth watching religiously every week. What, like Desperate Housewives is any sort of competition?

Rome continues to impress me with its superb acting, gorgeous sets, and attention to detail. And a little full-frontal nudity hasn't killed anyone yet. Even though you KNOW what's eventually going to happen to Caesar, it's the journey to that moment that hooks you. I keep rethinking all of my old history and even Shakespeare, and wonder how they're going to get these characters - who are getting fleshed out so nicely - to that point of action. Not to mention the questions about what will happen to all the other characters!

Gav, I hope it makes it to your neck of the woods sometime soon. It's addicting. Ignore what Goofy said.

Actually, I watched the show expecting to be amazed based on reviews like this and simply came away unimpressed. To each their own, and I'll take documentaries about Rome on The History Channel, thanks much. Anyway, I'm sure Gav will make up his own mind.

As for 'Desparate Housewives'? Puh-leeze. Not on my to-watch list, either.

Well I just watched the first episode and I'm impressed. I particularly liked the way that the portrayal of the Romans wasn't very romantic. Portrayals of Romans in the past have been weighed down with the classical view of the Roman being more noble than it was. So I am quite impressed. Time will tell if the show lives up to its promise.

One caveat; the initial episode felt a bit rushed, however I am hopeful that that is just the effect of introducing so many characters.
