Array The Aristocrats has anyone seen this WONDERFUL famous/imfamous movie yet? (other than me)???
who was your favorite?
what do you think of the controversy?
what do you think of the joke?? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0436078/ -
The movie was hilarious, though it did drag on a bit. Gilbert Gottfried was my favorite, as much from the venue and context of his performance as his excellent performance itself. Bob Sagat gets second place, since it's just weird seeing him say these things when I associate him with Full House and Funniest Videos.
The joke...I find very fun rather than funny. It's neat when you think of it as a mechanism to get out the most outrageous and long winded things you can think of, but not so funny as a joke.
Controversy? No one has to go see it that doesn't want to; it's not like they're playing it in Times Square, you're not going to be exposed to it unless you drive to a movie theater, PAY to see it, and walk into the theater under your own power. It's reasonable for it to be rated NC 17, I suppose, as a sop to "standards." -

Array i loved it-- sarah silverman was my favorite, but i agree, the raunchyness of bob saget contrasted with him on full house was... amazing.
and, as always, i would have all of jon stewarts babies. -
Is it really just a bunch of comedians telling the same joke? That's awesome!
I'ma get my hands on that somehow. -

I'ma get my hands on that somehow. it sounds like it would be... y'know... george's version, then robin williams's version, then eddie izzard, etc....
it's not.
it's more fluid than that.... they discuss when they first heard it, why the tell it, when they tell it, how they tell it........ the different versions, the opposite of the joke......... -

Array It left the only local indie theater that was playing it here on the day I got paid
I think it will be picked up by another art house theater in a week or so.
I didn't know Eddie Izzard was one of the comedians. Now I have to go. "Cause you gotta say something. You can’t go down to the moon and go, “Ooh, it’s all sticky! It’s covered in jam.” Fleche!! Fleche for fantasy.
"Dude! Zombie Keith Moon would be an unstoppable force!! -

also-- in the movie, they mention that bob saget is known for his vulgar standup. but my generation grew up with a very different bob saget than the one telling the joke.......... i'm not sure if it would be as amazing without that sense of the world being very very wrong..........
