Array Kill Chavez! Whilst watching the news last night I had the good fortune to see Pat Robertson - the Evangelists [apparently] - calling for the assasination of Hugo Chavez- (President of Venezuala). He later had to backtrack. I thought it hilarious and certainly put a smile on my face after a pretty hard day. What kind of a person listens to a nutter ... sorry preacher .... like this? Apology over kill Chavez TV call Profile: Pat Robertson -

Array ...And fellow evangelical nutjob frontman Jerry Falwell insisted that Tinky Winky is gay a few years back. (No gay man that I know would pair a red handbag with a purple fur suit, but that's beside the point.) I don't know what is scarier - that these guys are out there and allowed to spout their insanity to the public, or that people actually listen to them.
I did like Chavez' reply... in essence, "Bring it on!" Fortunately, for once, our Fearless Leader didn't take that to be a challenge to begin yet another regime change. We sort of have our hands full with the current one. -

I wonder how many people in the Pentagon or CIA or whatever are sitting in their chairs, slapping their foreheads because they were thiiis close to whacking Chavez, but now Robertson has ruined it for them... Pound for pound, the amoeba is the most vicious animal on earth. -

What made him think that Tinky Winky was male, in the first place? Did it occur to him that a purse might have been there to indicate that this was the smurfette of the group?
I wonder what it says about someone when they're so quick to "spot the gay." "What did I tell you about being stupid? You don't get a birthday this year." -

Word UP, Dog!!! Sorry, but you can't believe anything I say. I always lie. In fact, I'm lying now.

I wonder what it says about someone when they're so quick to "spot the gay." If I recall correctly, it was the triangle on top of its head, which is supposed to be one of the symbols of gay pride or something. But really, how many simple geometric figures ARE there? They had to use something there, given the notion of something on the heads of the costumes. Nutters like Robertson always see conspiracy instead of coincidence, though.
Wanker.
If you're going to talk about assassinating a foreign leader of a sovereign nation, Chavez wouldn't even make my top ten list. Having a big mouth is not a capital offense. ( Thank goodness. ) -

Array What is the comment came from "retired Lt. Colonel Pat Robertson" instead of Rev. Pat Robertson? Would anyone care? -

Array ... err...sorry for the typo. It should read "What IF the comment came from..." -

If he had a nationally syndicated program, then yes, I think they would. I'm not necessarily against assasination as a tool of foreign policy (at least as a possibility)--but as Inquarta pointed out--Chavez isn't even close to being in the mainstream.
Also, there's something.... icky.... about ministers advocating assasination.

Array Didn't we have a general reprimanded for making much milder remarks at a speaking engagement awhile back? I think a serving military officer of a lower rank might well have gotten even worse for advocating Robertson's idea.
If one is a civilian head of government, one cannot view with complete placidity the advocacy of assassination of heads of state by ones own officer corps, I think. -

Array Also troublesome is the fact that Robertson has run for president a few times....got the votes of 5,000 elderly Jews in Florida back in 2000, don't you know....
Of course, he did have the decency to admit on the news that those were not his voters and there should be a recount. -

Pat Robertson is the guy who spoke at the RNC convention in Houston where he said women who work outside the home are witches and lesbians. -

What I DO think is funny is some footage I saw about two weeks ago of Pat Robertson praying that more slots would open up on the Supreme Court. (It seems to me that he was asking God to kill a judge). Well, it happened, but I don't think that Robertson wanted to get rid of Rheinquist. (sorry for that spelling.) -

Either way, voters have chosen the dead guy before... often the better choice!! -
Full platter Hi!
Between Iraq, Afganistan, and New Orleans I think that the US. Armed Forces have their agendas quite full for the moment. I donīt think Chavez should worry right this moment.
Have a nice time!
