Believe it or not, Iraq & Afghanistan are using only about 10% of the American military.

It's delicate getting the military to help out in New Orleans because it's against the law for the military to engage in police actions within the US borders (posse comitatus, or something like that).

So the US armed forces have plenty of men to spare on a mission like this. But it's such a stupid idea, that even Ollie North wouldn't have gone for it.
