Duel ~ Desert, online reg now open

(rather than dig up earlier thread...)

The kind folks running Duel in the Desert have opened online registration for the event. Hoody-hoo!

Sigh... My dear fellow EPEEist... you forgot, he's a sabre fencer they just want to charge ahead. They don't want to actually have to stop and THINK

If you're expecting people to find it themselves what's the point of making the post at all?

Thank you, cerian for giving this thread meaning

    Information, not a handout.

Besides, a serious fencer probably has the extra muscle, energy and finesse trained into his little fingers necessary to type the letters, G-O-O-G-L-E and D-U-E-L- I-N- T-H-E- D-E-S-E-R-T. A newbie or 'recreational' fencer is gonna whine about not being given a link/touch/free lesson/hug/whatever.

To bad there isn't some logical, centralized, well publicized, simple to use system that people could use to keep abreast of tournaments. Something that offered publicity, on-line preregistration capabilities, results reporting, and all that good stuff. Then people wouldn't have to go hunting around for information...

I wonder what it would take to get such a system in general use?
That's it, I'm done with the discussion forums on F.net. It's had its uses, but the ideologues, ranters, and "experts" have drowned too many of the conversations. I'm changing my password to something random and never logging in again.

Say...there's a tournament somewhere, sometime this year...it's going to be great...go register. But you must figure out its name, date and location for yourself.

If you don't, obviously you are only worthy of scorn.

    Yes. That's right.
Sheesh, you'd think the words "Duel in the Desert," a well-known competition that's been discussed here many times before, would be enough.

Thank you for understanding at least. You're not such a bad guy after all, no matter what people say.

Oddly enough, I thought there was just such a large, well publicized system in use today. askFRED suits all of those needs, especially if you are in the Southwest.
