    Approved for the World Class Athlete Program!!

    I got final approval today! I'm so excited! The Army's going to pay for all my fencing!

    I should get orders to go to the Olympic Training Center in about a week.

    What is the official explaination of why the US Military sponsors a professional fencing team?

    I would rather have a professional fencing team than a highway across Alaska, but how is it justified?

    HOw much money do the people using that highway bringing to Alaska and how much money will the fencers bring to the US?
    I guess that is possibly only one of the questions that may lead to one point supporting the financing of that highway......
    Providing quality of life - even in Alaska - could be another one....

    It's from the interviews w/the German team on the Challenge Monal Epee DVD. One of them basically confirms that though he is a soldier, he is assigned full time to fencing training.
