You don't use the suspenders? How do your pants stay up? I would be worried about a little slippage enabling a blade to slide down. And, does it really save you that much time?
For me at least, I just find the waist sufficient to keep them up.

I understand that the pants can be close fitting enough to not slide right off, but the upper part of the pants tends to drop unless kept up with suspenders. Dropping a little bit tends to break the whole 10cm overlap rule, and expose some unprotected bits.

Now, I haven't studied bathroom habits of fencers, but except for guys using a urinal, almost everyone I've seen in, or running to the restroom, takes the jacket off.
Uh, no, as a male, my bathroom habits don't influence my suspender use. I have heard of number of women who forego suspender use to enable quicker turnaround times though. (At a NAC last year I overheard the good part of two pools of women fencers discussing and trading restroom hints for competitions Same planet, different worlds)

Personally, I usually don't use suspenders with fencing pants, but that's because I really haven't found suspenders to be of much use. My pants stay up just fine with the waist closures and have far more than the reg 10cm overlap. The suspenders are more annoying than useful.
