Array Waz up fencers? How's it goin' everyone? I've read the discussion forums for a while now whenever I'm bored, and I finally figured out how to get an account of my own (I'm a very low-tech person) so here I am. I'm a foil fencer (though I'm getting into saber a bit) from Utah, and absolutely love it! I fence at Utah Valley Sport Fencing. It's a great club, with some of the coolest people I've ever met, anyway, hope to talk with you guys! O, by the way, if you wanna email me, use lady_of_the_epee@hotmail.com, because I had to make a new account to register with the discussion forums (Yea, I'm a foil fencer. I got my email address right before I started fencing, so all I'd done is read up about it. At that point in time, I decided epee would be the best, but now that I've actually fenced a bit, I realize epee SUCKS! k fine, it has it's virtues, but I feel like I'm gonna fall asleep just watching it) -
welcome, i am sorry you do not appreciate the true weapon, perhaps you will come away from the dark side in time!
either way welcome and i hope you enjoy it here!!!!!! -

Array Nothing wrong with foil. Welcome to the forum, eh? Pound for pound, the amoeba is the most vicious animal on earth. -

Array No, nothing at all wrong with foil...that couldn't be fixed by enlarging the guard and drawing out a knuckle-bow on it, changing the shape of the blade to give it a edge, exchanging electric tip or button for a curled-over point, electrifying the whole blade, discarding the pistol grip for a slightly curved one and grounding the socket. And putting arms on the lame, making the cuissard nonconductive, and adding a conductive mask attached to the lame by a cord...
Welcome, Bebe. Pay no attention to the dismay of the epeeists, you have joined the "cool crowd" right from the outset by noticing that "the Emperor has no clothes".
I am confident that soon you will leve the "training wheels" which are foil behind and surrender completely to the romance and the mystery, the sound and the fury, the alpha and omega that is sabre.... Similar Threads -
