Wires crossed.

I know that there are French and German tips, but when I ordered a complete weapon from Triplette, they said that their weapons from Blaise Forge were wired in French so I shouldn't get a German body cord for it. Is it just me or is that incorrect?

It does not matter one bit, what a blade is wired with. What matters is the connector they put on the wired blades. Order the weapon with a French Tip, but with an Uhlmann connector.

I just wired a Russian Blade, with an Italian tip, a German Connector, a Belgium Handle an American lock washer and spagetti and a Japanese style pommel.

Tell them it is the connector that matters, not what they wired the blade with.

Find whoever told you this and hit them multiple times with a brick. Hard.

Somebody at Triplette obviously misunderstood you. Dont worry about it. Besides. At Nationals I got to know those folks quite well. In truth rarely have I seen the words 'Southern Hospitality' so well born out.

Their armorer is quite good and was generous with his tools. Moreover the new ownership of Triplette really makes a difference. They are really nice folks who care about fencers and their crazy little idiosyncrasies...they were so kind and patient with each and every one of my LEGION of them.

Seriously though, they've addressed many of the concerns seen on this forum and others and were quite diligent about correcting them. I know. Lots of them were mine. If they can satisfy me then their customer service is truly par excellence. Hors classe even.(Did I spell that right?)

There are lots of good vendors but Triplette gets the bulk of my business such as it is. My clubs business too. Speaking of clubs and such they do make the best non FIE mask IMHO. Inexpensive but safe. I wouldnt dream of putting any of the little ones at our club in one of those Chinese things.

Fatfencer

PS: Sport 7 points rock. No more mashed screws. Barrels are solid and dont mash easily. Tips are great. IMHO much better that German or whatever else is out there. It is completely compatible with your other standard French parts too.
