Knicker's fabric Is it a better idea to get knickers in cotton or nylon? I couldn't find a thread on this in archives, and my dad wants knickers for his birthday. Thanks! Mais que diable allait-il faire,

I've worn both. I prefer the nylon because it breathes more. The solution to your problem is to fence another weapon.

It is somewhat dependent on what weapon he fences. For Epee or Sabre, something heavier to soak up the hits. I personally like something with some stretchiness for comfort, which means probably not cotton. Whoopee! My avatar is back.

I hate the stretch stuff with a passion, and prefer cotton myself. But the FIE material is pretty stout and not that elastic, especially those versions without the stretch panels. ( I have Uhlmann FIE knickers, I forget the model. )
Depends on what HE likes, really. Is fit the big issue with him? Does he want some impact protection for his legs?

I love my Allstar Startex knickers, but they run a bit on the pricey side. Nylon will offer better protection in general and would get my vote. RebelFencer's Awesome Quote of the Week:
