Array Knicker's fabric Is it a better idea to get knickers in cotton or nylon? I couldn't find a thread on this in archives, and my dad wants knickers for his birthday. Thanks! Mais que diable allait-il faire,

Array I've worn both. I prefer the nylon because it breathes more. The solution to your problem is to fence another weapon. -

It is somewhat dependent on what weapon he fences. For Epee or Sabre, something heavier to soak up the hits. I personally like something with some stretchiness for comfort, which means probably not cotton. Whoopee! My avatar is back. -

Array I hate the stretch stuff with a passion, and prefer cotton myself. But the FIE material is pretty stout and not that elastic, especially those versions without the stretch panels. ( I have Uhlmann FIE knickers, I forget the model. )
Depends on what HE likes, really. Is fit the big issue with him? Does he want some impact protection for his legs? -

Array I love my Allstar Startex knickers, but they run a bit on the pricey side. Nylon will offer better protection in general and would get my vote. RebelFencer's Awesome Quote of the Week:
