| Have you gotten paid for Summer Nationals yet? Just curious if any referees (or armorers, or bout committee folks) have seen checks for Summer Nationals as of yet. And if not... care to make a prediction?
I can't remember when I got the check form last year... so I'm just not sure when to expect it.

| I do know for a fact that the great staff at USFA is working as hard has they can to get the checks out but each expensen report has to be gone over and the motel bill since some officals put charges on there room and except the USFA to paid for them. This slow down the process greatly. For those of you who has never visit the USFA Headquaters we have a smaller staff then most sports do. They are working on them has the conversion is going on and the fact that some offficals don't turn in their expense report in a timely manner can also slow down the process. So each report has to be gone over. consider that there were just 135 referee there not counting Armourer bout Committe and other paid staff. The USFA Paid out faster then most sport.
I use to judge shooting matches and sometime it maybe up to 3 months before I saw a check. And calling them will just slow them down in there process.

| Be nice though if they could have our per-diem and honorarium checks available for us at the tournament, as the FOC has continually requested, and then cut the checks for the rest later. |

| I can agree with what Tim said. I roomed with a referee once and only once. They had breakfast delivered every morning. I never knew about it because, being an Armorer, I was out the door before they even got out. Since I checked in first, they put all charges on my card, instead of their card because it was easier. It took me months to get that fixed.
Many rules and that includes administration is because there are a very small minority who abuse the system. I would like to see what has been suggested by eliminating the problem. Get rid of the people who abuse the system with a permanent black card.

| Nice to see that things don't change regardless of the country you're in.
I regularly have to room with the refs...and I've learned that you do anything you can not to put your credit card on the room. Most of the guys are really good and would give you the shirt off their backs, but I've had a couple leave me a surprise on checkout...thankfully the ref core in Canada is much smaller and payback happens pretty fast. ;-)
In Canada we are responsible for all extra costs on the room, the hotels have the arrangements set and the bill to the Federation almost immediately.
We generally have our cheques as we're boarding the planes home and then expense any extras back within 30 days. If we don't have our expenses in by then - tough luck...

| I would like to do it as I pay by cash or credit card for meals and such and I use my cell phone. Also, the hotels require a credit card for incidentals from each person or at least the first one to check in. Guess who has to be at the site first, Armorers or referees? They just charged all their meals to the room and my credit card was at the top. The USFA didn't care as they were not paying.
