Former student of Buckie's

I'm coming back to fencing after a 20 year absence. I first learned at age 10 from Anthony 'Buckie" Leach when he was at Cornell and was teaching fencing at the public schools before he went to Rochester. I'm not surprised to learn that he's now a national coach. He was an excellent teacher.

The only fencing near me is with a local re-enactment group. I've noticed I have much better point control and footwork than others who haven't had formal training. It's just nice to move around with blade in hand again.

Hey agooding2!

Welcome to the forum, it's good to see you're back in the sport.

And...are you right or left handed?

See ya around!

I'm no longer in central NY, but I do visit there sometimes.

Do you know about the "Clubs and Divisions" feature on the USFA's website? There might be fencing closer than you know.......

Yes, I checked the USFA clubs site.

The closest clubs to me are in Cincinatti, but that is still a 2 1/2 hour drive away.

I'm in the tri-state area where Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia meet.

Leads on other clubs in Southern Ohio, Eastern Kentucky and Western WV would be appreciated. Lexington is almost 3 hours and Morgantown is farther.
