I would like to thank all of those epee fencers (and non-epee fencers) who gave me advice when I first joined the board a while back. I asked about how a shorter epee fencer could even the odds against a taller fencer, and everyone had wonderful advice for me. Well, I implemented everyone's advice. I shortened the footwork, went for the wrist, (still learning how to effectively parry, though), and I took a heck of a beating while I worked on all the things everyone suggested.
Last week, a VERY TALL epee fencer confided to me that he would rather fence someone taller who would be more apt to take a body shot than face me, because he considered my wrist-hitting very annoying and difficult to combat. THANKS EVERYONE!!!
