2005-2006 Southwest Section Circuit Cup
So far I've seen (maybe) 50%.
I have:
Longhorn for October 29-30
Rose Condon Memorial for January 7-8
Crescent City Open for March 4-5
(Although no one has guaranteed me the CCO WILL be part of the SSCC this season. Richard E., do you know anything on this?)
Also, I still don't have dates for the Oz Parsons or the North Texas Division or (embarassingly) the Gulf Coast Division entries.
And now for this message...

and you better believe the Rose is going to be awesome again this year.
i just wish they could have it in a bigger venue. maybe the new convention center will be through by the time the Rose rolls around.

Point of note, the Louisiana Division did NOT submit a designate for the SSCC this season by the required date to the SSCC Commissioner. And it was confirmed that this was not merely some oversight but deliberate. So the Crescent City Open will NOT, repeat NOT, be an SSCC event next season. And your dates for the Longhorn are incorrect too.
Information will be published soon, as the Commissioner is in contact with the Designated LOC's.

The 2006 CCO will not be part of the SSCC. The CCO's organizers and sponsors are committed to the format, which includes Women's events and Mixed events.
As for another SSCC event in the Louisiana division; our division is very small and hosting another large tournament is just not feasible.
We hope to see everyone in New Orleans March 4 & 5
Cheers

Oh come on, just have two tournaments in New Orleans. It can't be that hard to convince people to come down there twice.

I'll have to check my notes, but I'm not certain the date for the Longhorn has been set.

Yes, whenever someone finds out the dates for the Longhorn, please post them. I need to know when I can come down to pick up my first place trophy.

I believe crystal plaques are traditional.

What about the Oz Parson's in OK city? Anyone have a date on that event yet. Will it continue to be part of the SSCC?

Yes.
Don't fret without reason. You'll only start silly rumors that way, and end up giving yourself tension tummyaches.

*chuckle* like I said folks, give it a few days! The schedule is being put together now.
LOC's will be:
South Texas - UT Fencing Club (Longhorn Open)
Ark-La-Miss - ALM Division (Rose Condon Memorial)
Oklahoma - Redlands Fencing Club (Oz Parsons Memorial)
Gulf Coast - Bayou City Fencing Academy (Name of Tournament TBA)
North Texas - La Touche Fencing Club (Name of Tournament TBA)
I'm working out the dates with the LOC's right now
They will be released next week.

A plaque is a trophy.

I believe it's generally a January thing. Given it's held at Texas State, they may not need to firm up the date as soon as other venues.

It is a South Texas Division event and has been held at other venues.

If my dates for the Longhorn are off, you better tell the SW Section as well. They now show the same dates on their calendar.

The Longhorn Open is on Oct 29-30, according to the Club President. If someone wants to overrule that, they're welcome to try, but I'd like to watch.
