It's more a self-esteem thing... he obviously doesn't believe in himself.

By reaffirming your existence as the "Almighty God of Atheism", you contradict your assertion of being an atheist.

Perhaps you should create an Atheist Bible. It's the same as a normal Bible, only with strategically placed "didn't"s.

The atheist bible already exists--it's called science. Key Books include:

    The Book of Galileo.
    The Book of Newton.
    The Book of Darwin.
    The Book of Einstein.
Why sabre? Because you don't take heads with the point.

As the God of Atheism, you have no power. Because as everyone knows, a god derives his power from his followers, and since all athiest don't believe in god and you are not the christian god, allah, or any other, you are thus insignificant. sorry chap. have a nice day.

If god derives his power from his followers, then the followers must exist first. A god that exists before followers exist wouldn't have the power to create his followers. So I guess that you are saying that man created god. I'm also guessing that he created him in our own image.

But do you still get the tax-exempt status when you start your own religion? Because that would make it aaaaall worthwhile.

You almost got me, but in actuality, I don't believe that I am the God of Atheism, which reaffirms my status as the God of atheism... Booya!

Precisely. The main attribute of the God of Atheism would be omni-impotence

Read "The Long Dark Tea-time of the Soul" (I think that is what it is called.) By D Adams. Excellent book touching on the topic you just mentioned. And Tornado jet fighters that get turned into eagles.
Some people are like slinkys. They serve no useful purpose, but it sure feels good when you push them down the stairs.

I read that book. It was funny. I don't remember what it was about, though.

Funny coincidence, I actually read it at a fencing camp.

Well, if I almost got you, then you have doubts. If you have doubts then your closer to being the "All doubting God of Agnosticism" than atheism...

Do not think that I actually believe what I wrote. I was pretty much just poking fun at people that worry excessively about ontological issues and wanted to show that the notion of a god that derived its power from its followers could not be a god the creator. Belief in whether or not god exists is a matter of faith. It cannot be proven. I, for one, do not believe. I do not require a belief in god to make sense of the world around me or to give me comfort. I also do not require the threat of eternal damnation to make me an ethical person. Others lead a happier life believing in god and I have usually have no problem with that. When they want to take their beliefs and make them civil laws I get upset.

I was also giving Mrbiggs a slow pitch to talk about the album whose cover is his avatar.

I've given up on quoting them, as my friends are mostly like "yeah...yeah...that's cool, I guess...why don't you listen to normal music?"

    But what the hey...
