Custom Avatar- Help!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I need some help figuring out the custom avatar options. I cropped my .jpg so it was smaller then 50x50, and a small enough file size, and the board does upload it from my computer, but when I post it doesn't show the icon. It displays a hyperlink that says "Morgaine's icon" that links to my profile, but there's no icon there either. What am I doing wrong? I've heard people mention on other boards that you need a certain number of posts before you can display a custom icon, but then I've seen others with 3 or 4 posts have a picture of themselves as an icon.

Help!

If you go into "User Tools" -> "Edit Avatar", does it show the one you uploaded?

Nope

It doesn't have anything there. Maybe I'd have better luck if I had it upload one from a website instead of my computer?

If I recall correctly you have to have at least 100 posts (or go Green) to upload a custom avatar.

That can't be right. I was able to upload and use one from the moment I registered.

I think it might be 30 posts?? i dunno, there used to be a limit....

Hmm ok then, thanks for the info! I'll stick with the "generic fencing" avatar for now. How does one "go green" anyway?

You pay to play. Actually, you pay a nominal fee to help the guys offset all the time and expense they put into keeping this up and running. They're still getting screwed, though.

Follow the "Support Us" link next to the FAQ link. They take credit cards, paypal, first-born children...

Ah, that explains it. I thought there were more kids in the house before I registered here. So, that's where she's gone to. What was her name? Oh, never mind, too late for that anyway
