I thought the USA didn't send representitives to the world university games anymore?
Year-to-year decision based on things such as funding and decisions of the national coaches.
I believe that this year it was decided to send epee teams (both genders), although last I heard there was some question over whether or not safety concerns would result in not sending them after all.
