| Who says you aren't allowed to fence?
Happens frequently, if irregularly, during lunch breaks.
Happened during my class, with our instructor (MM) in foil 4. That was fun.

| I can just imagine the level of complaints when you thought your ref made a bad call... |

Because either Michael or I are known for complaining to referees? Or any of the other people in the class?
Or because a bit of bouting in the middle of class has a referee?
Or matters?

| No
I don't know
?
Because when you have a pair of high level coaches, what makes a "good call" can get very tricky, if they have different interpretations of priority in any way, and especially since they have an on-strip view of the action rather than a side on one. |

| I was just at the Armorer's College (session 2) And I confess to a certain amount of shock on returning to the "real world". If I go for my level two, I'll have to take a few days of AFTER coming home to readjust. Very intensive, and also very fun.
By the way, how do I find a Great Dalmudi deck?? I have a few friends who need to be introduced to the game .....hehehehehehehe

Should also be available in most local gaming shops, I'd imagine.

| coaches college I have to admit this is a wonderful idea. How much does it cost to attend?
Someday when I can devote more time to aspects outside of competing I'd like to learn how to coach fencing. Being taught something usually doesn't entitle you to teach it. In fact, it almost NEVER does. The cool thing about my coach is that he embeds his method of coaching in what he teaches. Maybe when I learn what all he has to show me I will know the full method. Maybe I won't need coaches college. But I think a fencer should attend something like this eventually to complete a basic understanding of his art. Method has two sides, teacher and student; to see thru both viewpoints is so necessary to become, IMHO... COMPLETE as a fencer. For example, I know how to take a lesson, but I sure as hell know nothing of fencing pedagogy such that I would GIVE a lesson.
I will not ever actually open a salle...there's not enough money in it. but I'd like to be able to help my kids, when I have them into fencing and even give them the basics.

Note that it is not held in Olympic years (something about needing the OTC for athletes....), but will return again in 2009.

-B | Why would athletes need to use the Olympic Training Center just before the Olympics? It should be reserved for more important things, like USFA coaches' college.
