Looking for Plastron

Just purchased a new stretch jacket and am having trouble finding a plastron. My arms aren't big and the sleeve of the couple of plastrons that I have tried have been very wide. The result is a bunching of material around my upper arm, and it makes the jacket uncomfortable. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can you sew? It would be relatively easy to make the plastron smaller.

What type of plastron? Is it FIE or cotton? Cheapo nylon?

If it's cotton, it'll tend to be bulky no matter what.

If you adjust it by sewing (as suggested by Dame d'escrime), make sure you do the adjustments on the top of the are and shoulder. Don't modify the armpit section.

The plastron I tried on was my instructors cotton one. We are the same size and build and both feel the bulkiness. I'm not great at sewing, but I suppose I could probably get it done somewhere.

I would recommend that you look at an FIE plastron. Think of it as a long term safety investment.

I have a Negrini and my son has a Soudet. They both cost about 55 USD. The cloth is quite supple and smooth and moves well under the jacket.

Pump some iron, your arms will get bigger.
